Goodbye, Jon Stewart – And Take Your Clown Nose With You

So I understand that Jon Stewart’s EPIC FINAL FAREWELL AS HOST OF THE DAILY SHOW IS TONIGHT.

Good riddance.

On a somewhat related note, today is also the 70th anniversary of the dropping of the atomic bomb on Hiroshima, Japan.

You might wonder how those two things are related.  If so, thank your lucky stars I am here.  But even more, thank God for Bill Whittle, who once upon a time laid out historical fact against Jon Stewart’s feeeeeeewings, and guess what came out on top.  16 minutes of spitting in Clown Nose’s eye, and every second a treasure.

  1. "16 minutes of spitting in Clown Nose’s eye, and every second a treasure."

You know there are people who pay good money to receive that kind of abuse. Most of them live in Elkridge, MD.

  2. I thank President Truman and the bombs dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki for the fact that _I_ am here today.

    1. My maternal grandfather was already involved in island hopping. Who knows how long he would have survived that meat grinder if they had to do it all the way to Tokyo? I assume he would have been one of the projected one million casualties predicted if that was the only option available.

  3. It was an interesting revelation to me that the invasion plans called for 17 atomic bombs and nerve gas to prepare the landing zones. Puts the 2 that were actually dropped into perspective.

    1. And they say America lacked compassion when we dropped two. (Can you imagine if Doolittle's squadron was carrying them?)

      1. That's all we had prepped at the time. Would have been been a couple of weeks til the next "device" was ready.

But that's a large part of the reason Hirohito surrendered - once Plutonium was in the mix, they could be churned out on an assembly line.
