Stepping Back

To the Zombie Horde –

I need to step away for a while.

My daughter was in a terrible auto accident on the way to school this morning.  She was riding with a friend and her mother when another driver ran a red light and T-boned them.  Her friend has a broken leg and several cracked ribs; the mother is in stable condition.

My darling daughter took the brunt of the impact. She has been in surgery for five hours.  We don’t know what to expect.

Posting will be greatly reduced as we wait.  Thank you for your kind words in advance. Please pray for us all, my daughter’s friend and her mother as well.

Updates when convenient.

COMMENT UPDATE – We have some very special comments that arrived in the Spam folder last night from the usual suspects in the Peanut Gallery (if you like your peanuts surrounded with  pachydermal by-product, that is).  After consulting the HZIC, I am approving them.  I’d say they’re  Schmalfeldtian, but that would be a lie.  They’re far too creative to insult so harshly.

  6. WOW! How awful. I'm so sorry for your little one. Sending my prayers to the entire Zombie family. Events like this really puts things into perspective. It's amazing how quickly one incident can show us what is truly important in our lives. Please let us know how/if we can help. God Bless PK.

  10. Prayer of Supplication in Time of Any Calamity

Deacon: Let us pray to the Lord.
    People: Lord, have mercy!
And the Priest readeth this prayer:
O Lord Who alone art rich in mercy, and in the loving kindness of Thy goodness dost hearken to the supplication of us, Thy sinful and unworthy servants, arranging and directing us all toward our benefit, guiding our life by Thy wise providence, and in every way desiring our salvation; Who by nature art longsuffering and great in mercy; Who dost chastise and healest again; Who dost rebuke gently and with love for man, not to destroy the work of Thy hands, but to bring it to its primal goodness and to its original nobility, which we have destroyed in the feebleness of our understanding and by the counsel of the most accursed one; Who desirest to restore it, and Who lookest how Thy mightest, in any way, save that which hath come to grief through the fall: Do Thou Thyself, O almighty Master, look down upon us, and hearken to the entreaties of us sinners. For the multitude of our iniquities hath rendered us bereft of boldness; nor do we in anywise dare to ask forgiveness for our transgressions. But knowing Thy love for mankind, Thy loving kindness, Thy surpassing mercy, long-suffering, guilelessness and exceeding great goodness, and trusting in the depth thereof, and in the abyss of Thy beneficence, we lift up our hands and fervently cry aloud to Thee: We have sinned, we have committed iniquities, we have dealt unjustly, in that we have forgotten Thy commandments, and have followed after our wicked thoughts, and have lived in a manner unworthy of the name and Gospel of Christ, and His sufferings, and His self-abasement for our sake, so that we have become a reproach unto those who love Thee. Thy priests and Thy people have we astonished, and we have all turned aside and are become unprofitable: there is not one who rendereth justice and righteousness, no not one. We have cut off Thy compassions, Thy love for mankind, and the lovingkindness of the mercy of Thee our God, because of our malice and the wickedness of the undertakings whereby we have lived. Thou art long-suffering; but we deserve scourgings. We know Thy goodness, even though we are ignorant. We have been stricken lightly considering those things wherein we have offended. Thou art awesome; who can withstand Thee? Thou makest the mountains to quake; and who can speak against the magnitude of Thine arm? If Thou wilt shut up heaven, who will open it? And if Thou wilt close Thy floodgates, who will survive it? An easy matter is it in Thine eyes to make poor and to enrich, to give life and to slay, to afflict with illness and to heal: Thy least wish is a deed already accomplished. Thou hast become wroth, and we have committed offense; none of the ancients speaketh, confessing. Time is against us saying: We have sinned, and Thou hast become angered against us; wherefore, we have become a reproach to our neighbors. Thou hast turned Thy face away, and we have filled ourselves with dishonor. But still Thy wrath, O Lord; absolve, O Lord; have mercy, O Lord, and forsake us not utterly because of our iniquities, neither punish Thou others with our wounds. Grant that we may become chaste through the sufferings of others.

We are Thy people and the rod of Thine inheritance. Wherefore, chastise us, though in goodness and not in Thine ire, that Thou mayest not cause us to diminish, lest we become abased more than all who live on the earth; for Thy mercy is ineffable, Thy love of mankind is insuperable, and the wealth of Thy goodness is incalculable; and, trusting therein, we pray and make supplication, bending the knees of our hearts: Cease Thou to cut us with the edge of Thy wrath, we beg Thee earnestly, as of old, in David’s time, Thou didst act toward Thy people, if we show due repentance; but as Thou art all-good, put aside Thine anger and quell Thou Thy just wrath, and grant health to those who are suffering, strength to those who are enfeebled, and preserve them in good health. Drive every ailment and disease from Thy people; free all from the expectation thereof, keeping them unassailed by their former infirmity, and by Thine almighty arm maintain them untouched by this cruel misery and pernicious affliction: for truly the raging of Thy wrath hath shaken and troubled us all. And though we are not turning in every way from our wicked deeds, yet do Thou Thyself deliver us all from an evil conscience, and grant that we may be well-pleasing unto Thee in every good work. Through the supplications of the pure Mother of God, the Evervirgin Mary, who gave birth unto Thee without having known man, and by the intercession of the holy angels who gaze upon God, and of all the saints.

Exclamation: For Thou art the well-spring of mercy and the inexhaustible abyss of lovingkindness, and we send up glory unto Thee, and Thine unoriginate Father and Thine all-holy, good and life-creating Spirit, now and ever, and unto the ages of ages.
    People: Amen.

  11. Paul, I lost my top dog this past weekend. While she was not a human, she was a crucial part of our household, so I have a glimmer of the pain and worry you must be feeling. I send my best wishes and any support I can give.

      1. Thanks, Gus. It was a complete surprise. She competed in Agility on Saturday, qualifying in all 3 events she was in. And then collapsed Sunday morning - by Tuesday, we made the decision. Cancer/Auto-immune combo - there was nothing that could be done.

  15. You all know, just know , that right now in a dilapidated tin shack in Elkridge, the Cabin Boy is in his sweaty-palmed happy place, using his never-wrong Google-fu on news reports, fail-doxxing some poor average Joe in Lompoc or Sheboygan or wherever, preparing with masturbatory glee to accuse him of being our host.

Fuck you, Bill. Go find a tall tree and a short piece of rope, and use them. It ain't always about you. If you weren't such a colossal douchebag, it'd never be about you.

As for me, I'll say prayers for Paul and his family.

      1. Yep. You nailed it, Cousin Roy.

"@GrouchyOldLib: If this is another Krendler psyop, it's proof he's a psychopath. If not, my prayers for his family."

Prayers for which family? Krendler's? Grady's? Because last I heard, BS has asserted in official court documents that Krendler IS Grady.

So, what? BS is claiming he's praying for the same family he has relentlessly stalked and harassed and filed suit against? I call bullshit. BS wouldn't know the first thing about doing anything for someone other than himself, nor does he even have a passing familiarity with human compassion.

He expects compassion to be readily given to him and his plights at the same time he's in his sweaty-palmed, happy place abusing others. BS's words ring hollow... per always.

      2. It doesn't matter what name he might say in his prayer, does it? An omniscient god will sort it out. Any issues with things he might say can be sorted out as well. Elsewhere.

    1. Thumbs down. This has nothing to do with Schmalfeldt. Totally inappropriate to drag his name into this thread.

      1. You're right, AJ. Of course this has nothing to do with BS.

With that said, I do believe that of all people -- PK would have no problem with the cruel and hypocritical nature of BS being pointed out. Just my .02, my friend.

Of course our main focus and energy should be placed on positive thoughts and fervent prayer for our dear Zombie brother and his family. IMO -- this comment thread honors as much.

  17. UPDATE - PK sent the following overnight via DM:

"She was in surgery for 10 hrs. Shattered arm, shoulder & hip stabilized, but now in medically induced coma due to severe head trauma. Critical condition, next 72 hrs will tell the tale."

    1. What a tragedy. The psychology of this kind of situation is horrible because you personally are helpless and so have nothing to keep you busy.

  18. As soon as someone verifies this, and it turns out not to be Patrick Grady, I suppose I would have no choice but to drop my lawsuit against him.

  19. My heart goes out to the family of any child injured in an accident. But we also know how many times we have been burned by relying on information posted on this blog. Still, I suppose as soon as someone verifies that this actually happened, I would have little choice but to drop my lawsuit against Patrick Grady. Or, we can NOT verify it, I can go on wondering if this is just another lame attempt to punk me, and the case moves on.

  20. I see that Bill is complaining that this must be faked because he hasn't seen a post on this site from John Hoge. I guess the poor thing has forgotted about private DMs (which many of us used) and private emails (which I'm sure manny others did too).

I hope we will hear some good news soon.

  24. The comments from TK do have a certain Wee Willie immaturity about them. Plus Bunny Boy is too busy trying to convince his mama to loan him $5 since he refuses to actually work.
